Bible Study Topics

What are topics for a teen bible study group?
I am starting a bible study group for 13 year old girls. I want to have it fun and be full
of usefull information that they can actually use in life. I also want to have some bible verses involved because I find it very good to explore the bible without reading through it. I want the girls to be able to determine what they verses mean and how they go with the topic that we are discussing.
My bible study group was doing things on toxic influences for a while. Like society’s perspective, music, movies, peer pressure and so on. It talked about how we are supposed to go to school and be the influences, not be influenced.
Some interesting things were this:
We talked about the movie “The Hangover”
it said the “f” word 93 times
(the movie was only 90 minutes long)
it said God’s name in vain 33 times.
Are we really so unaffected by that now?

In the Beginning: Critical Concepts for the Study of the Bible $12.27 "In The Beginning: Critical Concepts for the Study of the Bible" is not an introduction to biblical content in the traditional sense. This text asks students to think like critical biblical interpreters. Each essay presents important questions about the Bible and the complex nature of biblical interpretation and provides each student with the means to address these questions with skill and sophistication. These essays are neither exhaustive treatments of the respective topics nor are they intended to answer all of the questions surrounding the topics. To provide a foundation for future study, the author develops a process of thinking and learning by which students can begin to independently raise further questions and generate new and more creative insights. These sixteen essays are written for those who are beginning the critical study of the Bible. Aageson believes that in thinking seriously about the Bible, critical minds will be honed; and that in bringing passion and curiosity to the study, enduring wisdom may be achieved. Every student of the Bible should read this text. |
