Who Was Jesus
Why do left wingers deny the fact that Jesus was the original conservative?
Jesus was strongly against abortion and spoke often about it. He also was strongly opposed to gay marriage. He gave several sermons on the mount speaking out against Gay Marriage.
He also extolled the rich job creators for their hard work and success, and condemned beggars and other welfare leaches on society. And he advocated that war was a great thing.
Jesus was a right wing conservative. FACT.
Jesus mentioned George Soros’s evil existence too, though the writer who was supposed to record that was killed by an elite assassin, Lepp Rossi. FACT.

Who Was Jesus? $4.95 Did the historical person Jesus really regard himself as the Son of God? What did Jesus actually stand for? And what are we to make of the early Christian conviction that, following his execution by the Romans, Jesus physically rose from the dead? N. T. Wright’s Who Was Jesus? considers these and many other questions thrown up by the latest wave of controversial books about Jesus, including * Barbara Thiering’s Jesus the Man: A New Interpretation from the Dead Sea Scrolls, * A. N. Wilson’s Jesus, * John Shelby Spong’s Born of a Woman, and * John Dominic Crossan’s The Historical Jesus: The Life of a Mediterranean Jewish Peasant. Each of these books portrays a different Jesus, and each portrait is markedly different from the traditional, orthodox Christian view of Jesus. While Wright agrees with these "Jesus" authors that the real, historical Jesus has many surprises in store for institutional Christianity, he also argues that they "fail to reach anything like the right answer" as to who Jesus was. Who Was Jesus? examines the recent Jesus publications in the context of the many modern Jesus books, dominated by Albert Schweitzer’s masterful portrait, The Quest of the Historical Jesus (1906). As Wright shows, the modern "quest" displays many variations on the same themes, so that the latest portraits of Jesus are not nearly as novel as they are made out to be. Wright also outlines the arguments made specifically by Thiering, Wilson, and Spong, and he presents solid reasons for discounting their arguments. Written from the standpoint of professional biblical scholarship yet assuming no prior knowledge of the subject, Wright’s Who Was Jesus? shows convincingly that much can be gained from arigorous historical assessment of what the Gospels say about Jesus. This is a book to engage skeptic and believer alike. |

The Challenge of Jesus: Rediscovering Who Jesus Was and Is $7.54 – Offers in-depth historical study of the life of Christ — Presents biblical, informed scholarship — Functions as an effective introduction to Jesus as well as a resource for those already familiar with his life Is There Really Anything New To Say About Jesus? And if so, could it possibly be true to Scripture and the Christian faith? N. T. Wright, one of the premier scholars investigating the life of Jesus today, thinks we have nothing to fear and much to learn from a historical study of Jesus. The Jesus he unveils has his feet solidly planted in first-century Palestine and yet rings deeply true to the resurrected Christ of Christian belief, worship and experience. This Jesus comes to us as one known and yet unknown, a man with a familiar profile and yet with features we had never noticed. Wright’s account of Jesus is sure to grip readers with its clarity and its full accounting of the facts. Wright compels us to rethink our standard images of Jesus so that we will never read the Gospels in the same way again. For those who don’t know much about Jesus, this book launches the discovery of a lifetime. For those who do know Jesus, this book unveils exciting new perspectives that clearly echo Jesus’ challenge to follow him. For those who have studied nearly everything about Jesus, this book reinvigorates the quest to know Jesus more fully and join in shaping the world as his disciple. |

0s Bc Births $14.14 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Excerpt: Mother: Mary Adoptive father: Joseph Jesus of Nazareth (c. 5 BC/BCE c. 30 AD/CE), also known as Jesus Christ or simply Jesus, is the central figure of Christianity, which views him as the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament, with most Christian denominations believing him to be the Son of God and God incarnate who was raised from the dead. Islam and the Baha’i Faith consider Jesus a prophet and also the Messiah. Several other religions revere him in some way. He is one of the most influential figures in human history. The principal sources of information regarding Jesus’ life and teachings are the four canonical gospels, especially the Synoptic Gospels, though some scholars argue such texts as the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of the Hebrews are also relevant. Most critical scholars in biblical studies believe that some parts of the New Testament are useful for reconstructing Jesus’ life, agreeing that Jesus was a Jew who was regarded as a teacher and healer, that he was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, on the charge of sedition against the Roman Empire. Aside from these few conclusions, academic debate continues regarding the chronology, the central message of Jesus’ preaching, his social class, cultural environment, and religious orientation. Critical scholars have offered competing descriptions of Jesus as a self-described Messiah, as the leader of an apocalyptic movement, as an itinerant sage, as a charismatic healer, and as the founder of an independent religious movement. Most contemporary scholars of the historical Jesus consider him to have been an independent, charismatic founder of a Jewish restoration movement, anticipating an imminent ap… More: |

1-2-1 Discipleship $9.99 “Lack of depth and maturity in the worldwide church is a major problem. Very few Christians really know their Bibles well and can apply the Word to their daily lives. Few really live as “salt and light” in a dark world. Most make little impact for the Kingdom or know how to share their faith simply and in such a way that people want to listen. Sadly many are not even aware their Christian lives could be any different and so they live frustrated. Could it be that we have failed to follow what Jesus commanded? His very last command before he returned to heaven was very simple “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit and teaching them all I’ve commanded you. And surely I am with you even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). A person’s last words before they die or leave should be important and Jesus certainly wasn’t going to waste the opportunity when his disciples were listening so intently… Make disciples — Jesus knew that if his disciples did that, then all else that might be necessary would follow on. If we get the discipling part right then the church will grow and the church can become wide AND deep, giving life and refreshment instead of only disappointment and frustration. This book aims to explain what discipleship is and give practical guidelines for discipling others. I feel compelled to write it because few seem to have been discipled themselves and good books on the topic seem surprisingly scarce. I was one of those who had to learn everything by trial and error. This book is the kind that I was looking for but didn’t find. I hope this might ensure your way is a little easier.’ Christine Dillon |
